Bad news for new NBC Sports Network

Well this is sad...I will not lie to you and tell you that although I am not a huge hockey fan and my loyalty for all things sports is with ESPN, I was excited for the emergence of the new NBC Sports Network to see what they got. Already scheduled to air 90 regular season hockey games for the new network, which was going to be their "bread and butter", may not even happen with the NHL players association in a lockout! Talk about bad luck. I thought the move for NBC to make a sports network was going to be beneficial for them, considering essentially one other network shows hockey games. After continuing to read the article at adweek.com about this it just seemed to get more and more depressing. Players are already planning on a bad outcome from the lockout and have signed with teams overseas like Russia and Sweden. I thought we were done with this stuff? First America's beloved NFL than the NBA. Sorry, looks like sports fans are going to have to go through this nightmare again. No one is hurting more though than the NBC Sports Network. NBC spokespeople are reassuring fans that if any games are missed not to worry, the slots that are opened will be filled with "quality" event programing like, Boxing and soccer. Great...
